A creator of hair transformations, cuts and colors alike, Dane enjoys when clients come in wanting a big change as well as any and all other changes. Specializing in precise bobs, short fades and pixie haircuts, Dane also is great with vibrant edgy colors, rich brunettes and blonding. Dane creates styles that suit his clients aesthetic, whether that’s edgy and sharp or soft and lived in.
Originally from Illinois, Dane has been in the Austin area for about ten years after previously starting his career in the hair industry in Las Vegas as a stylist and then continuing on to be an educator with Paul Mitchell before moving to Austin to work alongside a friend and help open a salon. Over the past 13 years in this industry, Dane has acquired a strong foundation in cutting to which he can now call himself a specialist.
Being in an ever growing and changing industry is something that Dane loves about doing hair. Striving to constantly learn about newer and greener products, Dane makes a point to stay educated in the latest trends and techniques.
When Dane isn’t at the salon, he’s training for his next triathlon! Having completed three full Ironman’s and four 70.3 half Ironman’s, Dane is considered an elite athlete and loves the community that comes with training to maintain that. Speaking of community, volunteering and raising money for the Flatwater Foundation is something that is really important to Dane and something he’s committed to raising money for these past 8 years and something he’ll continue to do. Besides training and raising money, Dane loves trying new recipes in the kitchen with his partner Toni or hiking with their two pups, Bindi and Pip.
Dane has spent the last 10 years in Austin creating a chosen family of friends and growing his talents as a hairdresser. Being a stylist at nova, Dane truly feels this is the best place for him and his clientele in order to create the experience he’s always wanted to be able to provide. With cleaner products and color as well as a beautiful, bright space, he looks forward to seeing you in his chair.
